Default so is there another way?

my sub adult tokay gecko is sorta thin but packing on the weight nice and slow, he's a tamed tokay for those how don't know. anyways it's crickets after crickets after crickets.....yes i always feed scorpions and geckos crickets because they love them! but i wouldn't consider pinkies because i don't want that sh!@#t in my house and worms?? NO! and i Know how the crickets do for my geckos....great they never seem to get tired of them but they don;t really have a high fat content. my question is how do i pack on a few more grams on his body per say? instead of mice, rats, and worms? ( by that i mean pinkies, mealwoms, waxworms, butterworms,or roaches ) is there a fattening thing out there?, because it would take so many crickets to make him gain more weight. i feed them a lot, the sub adult seems to be really happy with about 3 or 4 crickets a day, everyday which is more than recommended, but who cares food is good stuff.

B. Dubia roaches get quite a bit larger than crickets and can make for a hefty meal that will fatten him up.

well, you're asking for an alternative but you seem to have pretty much shunned all other feeders. lol! in case you don't know, the feeder worms are actually young beetles so there's nothing to be afraid of.
not that you should change the diet, crickets are fine. just keep doing what you are doing and your tokay should become very chubby with time. since your tokay is still growing, maybe you can increase the amount of crickets. let him have his fill. just remember to remove all uneaten crickets so they don't become a bother.

Roaches are more of everything you find in a cricket gram for gram, so if you wanted it to fatten up without making it fat overall, roaches would be the way to go. Blaptica dubia are an excellent choice among many. My geckos and lizards all eat roaches for the most part.

if you are lucky there will be an online seller who is located near you. that way, you can go to them personally.
if online is the only option, the best way is to buy a starter colony so you don't have to buy everytime. it's very easy to keep dubia, and are quite interesting in their own right.
be on the look out for any upcoming reptile/herp shows in your area. those are bound to carry a lot of different feeders.

You may or may not be able to find someone close enough to purchase them from in person. I do agree that it's best to just start raising them yourself. They're very easy to breed once you get them going. Here's a good place to find people selling them online:
Kingsnake.com Classifieds > Food/Feeders/Supplements
Tons of feeder breeders on there. It's a competitive market, so shop around for the best prices and quality.

If you are just worried about packing on weight crickets will do it. I see to many people throw pinkys and all kinds of worms and other fatty things at them when there is no need. If you just feed them a nice healthy diet of what ever feeder you choose they will fatten up like it needs to. Now another thing to consider I have noticed that some locals of tokays do not get quite as big/fat as others. So if your tokay tends to be one of the thinner ones then it will never get as big as some you see.
