It sounds like you're stressing him pretty badly. Don't you think that his health is more important than trying to handle him?

Absolutely not.
Specially If you can notice how stressed it is! Let it settle in, start eating well,... than may consider trying to tame it. For now, you have to stop.

Ya I definately wouldnt mess with him anymore! I consider Tokays show animals. Look but dont touch sort of thing. I suggest not trying to tame him anymore, IMO thats sort of like saying Hey I dont like your personality so Im going to break your spirit. Theyre not dogs or cats.

You should really let your tokay settle in before you start tying to "tame" it. Then when you start handling keep it at one or two times a week at first. In my honest opinion if you want something you can handle right away get a leopard gecko. There is no guarantee that you will "tame" your tokay, most likely you are going to kill it from stress first. Especially if you are taking your advise from a youtube video.

Most of those are started very young and it is a long process. Like getting it used to being touched. And then holding it for very small periods of time. And very gradually over years if the animal isn't showing signs of stress then you keep going. Tameing takes along long time if you don't want to harm the animal physically and psychologicaly. None of them really like it. They are just used to the handling. If you wanted something you could handle a tokay prolly wasn't the best choice. Either way please let him b from now on
