Usually nose rub is a sign of stress or inadequate housing...or stress due to inadequate housing.

Ive seen this happen when they are trying to get the shed started. Theyll rub theyre nose until the shed lifts up. If hes having a hard time and rubbing his nose alot to try and start the shed the humidity might be too low. But that would be a cause for the raw skin.

Morgan makes a good point. Make sure you have something in the enclosure with a rough surface that they can rub on too...a piece of slate, cork bark, etc.

he/she hasent been rubbing anymore i think they just didnt have him in the proper habitat at the pet store. I got him looking for a male for my female tokay but i think the people at the petstore where wrong about his/her sex(i dont really know ive only sexed leopard geckos and there a bit easier). I was gonna take him back but id feel too bad putting him back in that little cage so i kept him/her. Back on topic, so he hasent been but his nose is still red. Also he shed the other day but there are two little patches that are stuck to him still. Another thing is he ate the first night i had him(week ago) and hasent eatin a thing since. Do you think this all has to do with a health issue?? I have him in a separte tank from my female just cuz idk what sex he is and if there is something wrong i dont want her getting it too. Thanks -CJ
