Yes, you're right. BUT, ... if not I get bitten. I get near it, slowly.. even through the glass, it tries to bite inmediatly.

Have you seen ReptileWhisperer? she moves her hand flat at the same level as the gecko, slowly towards it, and if it barks she stops for a moment. You might have to take the risk getting bit rather than moving fast and stressing it out i don't think its really that bad, ive been bitten by a german shepard and pretty sure thats ALOT worse, so im not worried for a tokay bite^^

ya, but i got him as a little baby, so the bites didnt hurt.

as for the full grown female, the bites hurt but she doesnt bite anymore after a few months of handling. At first you have to grab them quick.

So, cuold you explain a little bit the "taming routine"? I mean, in the first period when you have to grab them quick. How do you do that and how do you transform the session that started with "quick grab" into a friendly one without getting bitten all the time?

I held them for about ten minuts every day or so and had to grab them quickly at first. After a couple of weeks they stop trying to bite but remain uncomfortable in your hands, after a couple of months you can grab them up gently. After about a year, mine seemed to like being handled (probably because he associated me with food).

Once they stop biting you can try nudge them on you your hand without forcing them. The less restriction, the better.

The best way to keep them in your hands without them getting away is placing one hand in front of the other as they walk forward. But at first they are to fast. The reptilewhisper's way seems good to.

If you need more advice id be happy to give it to you based on my experience.
