Exclamation Help!!!

I have a pair of breeding Golden Geckos and they currently have 2 eggs in their terraium (both separate)
She's a moody little thing and occasionally doesn't eat for a long time and will then carry on as usual...
She hasn't eaten for a long time now, but right now she is trying to eat one of the eggs (Its been there for ages, I think it could hatch any day now).
I have to keep shooing her away as she's really going for it. (oh, and she's still refusing food, i've just tried)

Unfortunately the surface that the eggs are laid on is very uneven (its an exo-terra background) and so I cannot cover the eggs with anything...

Any ideas? I don't want her to kill my baby

Try just covering by "tenting" some aluminum foil over top of the eggs. The female is likely wanting to eat the eggs for the calcium. I know you say she's not eating, but try to get her to eat some well dusted prey. Tokay can and will eat all kinds of things. Try something new if she's not responding to her normal food.

check to see that all the husbandry is right, maybe put some newspaper on the sides of the tank except for the one side that the doors open on so they feel secure, I did that and mine are eating like pigs

Remove the adults to a temporary enclosure till the eggs hatch.

More than likely shes trying to eat them form ther calcium. Try moving to a separate enclosure and giving her a dish of calcium powder to up her calcium reserves. Once the baby hatches put her back in there without the male. I suggest not letting her breed again until she eats more regularly so she doesnt depleate what ever calcium reserves shes got making eggs. also that way maybe you can figure out her schedule or why she wont eat. Normally right before laying females will stop eating bc the eggs are large in the belly. but its not ok for her to go very long periods of time with out eating, and the eggs will only make it worse. Hope this helps!
