Cool Need help/advice on White Lined Gecko!

Hello everyone. I have recently decided i would like to purchase a White lined gecko. I am an experienced reptile owner, for i have a leopard gecko, ball python, corn snake, and a red tail boa. I have done extensive research on white lined geckos and have heard many different opinions on how to setup its enclosure. I house my leo in a 28 quart sterilite tub and he is very happy and healthy. But i know that White lined geckos like to climb around on glass. I have a 20 gal. aquarium i want to house one in and i have the knowledge on what i need for him other than if i should use a heat lamp I have heard many people say no to not use one and yes to use one. I realize that white lines are nocturnal but i also want to keep a heated and comfortable environment for my future pet. I am an avid uth user and i would plan on using one for the white line, but i wanted to know if a heating lamp would also be necessary. Thanks!

Hi there! I keep 2 females and 1 male in the 2ftx18x2ft exo terra and that seems to be plenty of room so a 20 gall should be fine for a pair but they're arboreal so if you can stand it in end would be better?! They need temps around 28-30 degrees (celsius) with a 5 degree dropnat night. I use a heatmat on the bottom of the viv and the light on thermostat. Hope this helps

I wouldn't bother with a heat mat personally as they don't tend to hang out on the ground very much (if at all).

its true they dont hang around on the floor much so above advice is correct you dont need a heatmat, its just my preference to use one and you dont need to worry about uvb as rightly said above unless you've got a live planted viv, though i have read that a little uvb can stimulate breeding, but im yet to breed these so my knowledge is limited as to whether its necessary

So a CHE would be a good recommendation for a white line?
