A tokay might not have been the best choice for your first gecko but i will help you in any way i can. My newest tokay i just purchased is eating like a pig which is usually odd for a gecko coming to a new home. My best advice is to just leave the gecko alone for about 1-2 weeks. The only time you should bother it, or its surroundings is when you have to mist the aquarium/terrarium. Leave food in there with it and keep its temps/humidity at the right levels and you will have a healthy tokay. And be sure to take a fecal sample to your local exotic vet to have the tokay checked for any possible parasites or worms.

if my conversions are correct thats approximately 86.9? If so those temps are good for a tokay, just make sure the ambient never exceeds 90. I usually keep my temps at 83-86 during the day and about 75-78 degrees fahrenheit during the night. I mist their enclosure twice a day once during the morning and once at night. I let the humidity drop to about 50 percent in between simulating the rainfall the jungles tokays inhabit. And about the light, i personally do not use a light for any of my geckos or snakes as they are all nocturnal. I recommend a ceramic heat emitter. Depending on the size of the tank you are housing the tokay in you can purchase a che with the necessary wattage to heat the tank. CHE's are good because they produce no light so they can be on 24/7 without throwing off the day/night cycle. Any more questions feel free to ask!
