Sick White Lined Gecko
About a month ago my white lined gecko developed a swollen and cloudy eye. I took it to the vet, got some eye drops, and after four days the problem disappeared within 10 minutes. Then the mouth started to look a little funny and not long after the eye problem came back again.
I took it to a different vet two weeks ago and it has been taking baytril daily and metacam every other day. But, there are no signs of improvement. The eye is about 5 times the size of a normal eye and very cloudy, the other eye is normal size but cloudy. Also, its mouth is extremely swollen and irritated looking.
I can't afford to keep taking this guy back to the vet so if anyone has any suggestions please send them my way. A little background info...
daytime temp- 85-90 degrees
night time temp- 75- 85 degrees
humidity- 60-90%
food- gutloaded crickets also dusted with calcium and vitamin D3. it has not been regularly eating though.
habitat: a vertical acrylic terrarium. equilavent to about 20 gallons. coconut fiber and moss as bedding. lots of vertical climbing and hiding places.
sex and age- unsure. vet said he thinks it is a female.
Pictures are attached. The ones with the mouth open are from 2 weeks ago. the ones with him on my hand and NOT wrapped in the green towel is from today.
