tokay eyes
hi everybody, yesterday I was at a pet store, just passing by, till I saw this male tokay climbing the walls of a small enclosure, at first sight there was nothing strange on it, I ask the clerk to handle it, just to prove it was a male, (I have a female and I wanted a male so I can take him to good shape before breeding season) and noticed both eyes were all different, one is kind of grayish green (almost like smithi) and has lots of stripes in it, the other one is darker than normal (normal is yellow, as far as i know), so i bought it 'cause I really liked it to be different from the others i've seen, he is waaaaaayyyyy too thin, bones over bones, but he has excellent attitude, he is eating already, my question is, can tokays have different eyes? can this become a morph? and by the way.... what is the age for a male to be sexually adult(she is about 2 inches bigger than him)?

I believe you would have to post photos to get better opinions on his eyes, but I have noticed a difference in some of my morphs. I have been told it is more a matter of weight when it comes to breeding and that they need to be at least 60 grams.
You haven't already added him in with your female have you? His condition indicates he is wild caught, as does his temperment. Even though he is eating, I highly recommend putting him in quarantine to make sure he doesn't have something your female could catch.

There are different eye color morphs. Whether they breed true or not still remains to be seen. As Kristyn said, you should post some pictures of them. And I also second what she said about quarantining him. He's likely loaded with parasites. Once you get him settled in and fattened up a bit, you'll likely want to take him to a vet and have a fecal exam done to check for parasites so you can deworm him.

I don't believe there has been enough morph breeding to completely determine that, but I would classify that the way they do Ringer Ball Pythons that indicate they are carriers of the Piebald trait. Until breeding him proves otherwise that would be my opinion, but you would have to know what it is indicating and have a female to bring it out.
It somewhat looks like my girl Overcast and made me look at the photo of each of her eyes. Hers don't match each other either, but the difference is suttle enough (or I wasn't paying attention) that I didn't notice until now. Or do Tokay eyes change color the way their bodies do? It's her left eye that I noticed first, but I didn't turn her to examine the other at the time I took the photo because I wasn't thinking about the possibility of them being different.
The only picture I have of both her eyes is this one, where I was trying to show how her mouth is white instead of black.
I saw a Pied once that had what looked like half white half black eyes split down the middle and each eye had the color in the opposite place of the other. I saved the pictures so I'll post them when I get home from work.

I would say their eyes change like their bodies do, crested geckos defently do, but tokays could be an illusion because of the change of body colour, i will keep an eye on the eyes of my tokays.
