hi everybody!!

I've notice my tokay has diarrhea
is diarrhea a clear sign of parasites?

and by the way, I've read many articles where salmonellosis is directly related to reptiles, what do you all guys think about this?

Diarhhea can be a sign of several things. The best thing for you to do is have a vet get a fecal sample and go from there. I'm surprised no one else has replied to this, way to go folks, nice job being helpful...

@ porkchop ~ Don't chastise other members. It's not helpful to anyone and more so, it's not your job. All you're likely to do is start a fight.

@bawner ~ Get a fecal exam to check for parasites. And yes, salmonella is common among reptiles just like it's common with chicken (about 90% of all store bought chicken contains salmonella). But, if you don't lick your reptiles, or eat their poop as well as wash your hands after touching them, you should be fine.

well, I'm sorry to tell you he passed away, he was long way stressed and there wasn't anything i could do, the vet said wasn't parasites, so I suppose stress kill him, I'm sad about it, he was going to be my female's boyfriend, but I have to get over it, I'm kinda pissed to importers who just don't give a (f word) about animals, I learn the lesson and I wont buy more WC animals, though is too hard to find CB's in my country, that's my objetive

Sorry to hear that your gecko passed away today. May he rest in peace.

Best wishes finding a partner for your female.

Did the vet have any idea what could be wrong? The stress, dehydration, of being imported?

nope he did not, most of our vets (not to say all of them) ignore exotic pets care, they focus to cows, horses and dogs, in fact, the first vet I take the poor tokay, thought it was a sick iguana.

I still have some time for breeding season, but I will not despair, If I can't find him this year, it will be the next, desperation was what made me buy this little guy RIP

Hi bawner00 ~

It is really amazing that the first vet who saw your tokay thought that it was a sick iguana!!!

Again, best wishes in finding a mate for your other tokay. In the USA it would be easy to find captive bred tokays!
