Well, my second picture thread, and it's the Tokays turn!!
My partner bought his first Tokay well over a year ago now, a male LTC but still very aggressive and quite large. (Thank you Graham_S) :P
He is called Mr Snuffles, and approximately 6 years old, a rough guess, and is now calm enough to get out, check over, and show friends in a quiet room. He hasn't bitten for a long time now, though can be quite vocal if disturbed. He sings to our female most nights
When we first got him:
And the last 6 months we've had him since he has calmed down a little:
Miss Giggles was a little on the thin side, healthy enough and lively enough, but the person had struggled with the temps, so I travelled quite far to pick up two females co-habiting (a good friend had the other female), and with some heat, and patience, she started feeding again, gained some weight and now looks real healthy. She is still very aggressive, will tolerate the handling enough to be checked over, but will bite and snap, and sometimes weighed (once a month) but I like her that way, we don't think she'll calm no more, and we are happy for her to keep her wild streak.
When we first got her:
And within the last few months, she has gained a lot of weight, and now looks a lot healthier. I'm really pleased with her progress, and so is my partner, he worked hard with her.
And finally, a third and final Tokay but in June from a reptile show at about 5 weeks old. He is getting big now, but when we first heard his calling, it was the cutest sound, compared to the loud manly sounds from Mr Snuffles, this was high pitched, and so very cute!
Anyway, when we first go him:
And the last month or two:
Thanks for looking, and reading!
