Default Introduction...

Hello people, my names Tom and about 3 months ago I took 3 of Chaz' (charlesthompson) Tokay Morphs. I live in England and Tokay morphs arent very common out here so I feel pretty lucky to own some =]

I have a female blue/yellow granite, a male Calico and a Male Granite.

I am new to Tokay's but finding them a joy to keep.

I have also purchased 3 of the offspring from his breeding project. one of which is calico x calico which im hoping turns out to be female (although not looking likely).

I am very new to breeding/genetics and for my first year im just hoping to produce some babies and bring the younger ones up to weight for next year when hopefully Ill have a better understanding of genetics and an idea of where I want to go. Ill be on the look out for some normal's to try to re-create some of these awesome morphs.

Currently have 2 egg's that are calico x blue/yellow granite which are looking good so far.

You have seen them before but heres some pictures anyway =]

first up is the Calico Male...

Welcome to GU Tom. Nice looking tokays. If you haven't already, take a look at the stickied thread here in the tokay forum that is specifically about those of us working with the tokay morphs. It's set up there so that we can all share and gain knowledge about how the various genetics work. So far, most of these genetics seem to work in quite mysterious ways. We should certainly know a lot more after the next breeding season or two as working with these genetics is becoming more and more popular.

Hi Tom and welcome!
Those are beauties youve got there! Congrats! I work with a miriad of powder blues, olive blueheads, one particularly frustrating blue granite female, and lucys, but I havent yet gotten the space to add some calicos to my collection. They are gorgeous though. Ophilaphile does and I beleive he has a great understanding of their genes. Much more than I do. Where as I have my theories, I'm still waiting for my f2 clutches to hatch and we will see what happens. They are popping soon though. Very frustrating. It's hard because where as with my ball python morphs I know everything there is to know about their genetics and possible outcomes, tokays have not been followed as closely as ball morphs and boa morphs. Same with Leo morphs. So we all are basically in the same stages. I think we all are excited to see where the tokay morphs are going and to find what great possiblities they hold.
