How long do you suggest I let him adjust before offering him food? any suggestion as to what the first meal should be? I know they eat crickets, meal worms, wax worms ect.
I know Juvi's should be fed daily, adults every other day. How much should a baby be eathing a day?
When I picked him/her up I noticed right away that they are underweight and very skinny. I think they are anyways.
When I ordered him for the pet shop they told me they are captive breed and raised but they do it outdoors in big cages. He came from some place down in florida. They guarantee them to be free from parasites and healthy... I guess under weight they can still be healthy...... any ways any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hi welcome to Gu!
That's a gorgeous little toker you've got. Congrats. To answer a few of your questions. He probably will show little to no intrest in any food for at most a week. But generally they are up and eating within a few days. He also will most likely show no intrest in the mealworms at all. Tokays are feeders that rely heavily on movement to catch their food. As you know mealies don't move too much or too fast. A baby still is ok to eat everyother day. That's how I feed my cb little ones. But it all depends on your preference. Mine will generally eat 2-10 crickets depending on their size and the feeders size. But really there is no absolute number. Feed until he's done eating and then remove all the extra feeders. Or you could put in a few at a time until he shows no more interest. You should stick with either roaches or crickets as a staple. I never feed any one of mine anything else. Everything else is just too fatty. Little guys are generally lanky but they should not be skinny. Even though they were cb, cb outside really makes a huge difference IMHO. You have no control over what goes into the cages. I'm sure they are screen and not glass so the chance for parasites getting into the cage by way of feeders or other wise still is very high. So what I suggest you do as the new owner of this guy is to get a fecal sample to a vet no more than 24 hrs after he pooped it out. That way you know for sure it's not parasites that is causing the skinniness. Then you also know that you are starting on a clean slate. I hope this helps. Congrats on your new buddy!
