Default White Lined - Healthy Weight?

I recently took in a white lined Gecko, and I'll be the first to admitt I dont know what I am doing, but I am trying...

My biggest concern atm is how much is this guy susposed to eat, and is he currently at a healthy weight?

My sister - petco employee specialist - is telling me he is underweight and needs to be force fed turkey baby food.

He's been through alot with his recent move and tank change, I dont want to have to force feed him as well if its not needed.

Can someone tell by a picture if he is underweight?

Definitely not. White lineds are slender animals and this one may even be called slightly overweight.

Best

Thank you for your reply.
Could you tell me how much/how often I should be feeding him?

My only reptile experience is with a bearded dragon, and from what I have read this lil gecko eats in a week what my beardy eats in less than a minute....

Hi,

I do feed my adult white lineds (I do keep and breed the species since approx 12 years) twice a week. 3-4 medium sized feederinsects per feeding are fully sufficient.

Cheers

Maybe someone can tell me why his white line isnt very visable?
With proper tank conditions, will it appear?

I dont know if it was ever really dark, but assume they normally have a distinct white line?

No, it will stay like that. It is a local morph, which may become a subspecies or even a seperate species once taxonomists will have a closer look at these animals. These white lineds hatch out of the egg with the same brilliant white markings as the "normal" morph, but the white fades out after some time.

Cheers

Ok thanks, thats good to know.
I do have one more question, and I hope I'm not annoying you with them..

When I got this Gecko, he was white - which was why I started calling him Casper.. The next morning he was a darker grey/green color.

I am hoping he is susposed to be the darker color and its not a stress sign.

I didnt go out intentionally to get this lil guy, I went to get a bigger tank for my beardy. Found this guy all dirty, covered in dog hair, cold, and just couldnt leave him there.. So I had no time to do the research before bringing him home..

I do greatly appreciate all your help so far.

Is it possible he just shed that quickly?
I havent found any skin in the tank.

Maybe I am just overthinking all of this.
He seems to be ok, but very timid and hides alot.
He is eating.
His tank is set up properly.
Guess its time to wait and see.

He probably just shed. Geckos often eat their shed, so it's not unusual to not find any shed skin laying around.
