Default Tokay setup

Well finally finished my tokays vivarium yesturday. I got it all planted and a heat pad on the bottom which I don't think will do much of anything. I have a infared light above beating down to warm the enclosure. It does not seem to be cutting it as a heat source tho.
This is what I have thus far. I still have plants to put in it. The temps on the hot side are around 80. Any suggestion how to get the temp in the mid 80's?

Ditch the red lamp and use a ceramic heat element (CHE) on a thermostat.

it's on my list. Just have to get the cash to go buy one. Have had a bunch of other costs getting this viv up and running. The red bulb I had laying around from our leo's. I do have a question about the ceramic heat elements tho. How far away from wood should they be kept? I will be building a canopy for the top of this viv to help keep heat in. So wondering how far way the element needs to say from all the sides? Or is this even going to be an issue?
