I can now say that Gekko Vittatus can make other sounds than mating calls
Last night, while I was filling the fogger, I got a hand a little close to my female. But I didnt notice it, before she screamed VERY loud, and ran towards the other side of the terrarium. I was so surprised, that I almost messed myself. Didn't see that one coming
So They do make other sounds than just the infamous mating call. They also make warning screams,( whithout any warning, what so ever)

I have noticed my little one does this too. Sometimes when the lights go out you hear alittle squeak. And also if you get to close its like a sort of whistle/squeak and then they run away.
I must say I love all the sounds my animals make (especially my leachie, he clicks away some nights), but luckily my parents havent heard them yet! haha
What sort of sound was it? Are your G. vittatus generally quite vocal?
I sometimes find it amazing how much sound can come out of such small geckos!
By the way, please try to keep thread titles a little more appropriate. The forum search tool uses thread titles, so its important to make titles of threads relevant to their content
