I just took in a Tokay
From a 12 year old girl that did not want it anymore. It has a tall enclosure with a 75 want black heat lite but nothing vertical so this week I will be getting some portable hiding spots and also putting in some lucky bamboo that's alive. It will help both the gecko and my plant with the humidity.
They did not know too much about this but I have been doing research for the past year or so so I finally took this one and it's about three years old.
They were feeding it different insects and a small mouse every couple weeks.
But without any supplements. It had an exam yesterday and everything came back negative she was nice enough to make sure that it was healthy before she was given it away.
So I'm just gonna be updating vertical places to hide such as some kind of wall with dense foliage probably artificial and the live stuff on the ground so that humidity will also rise as well as bumping up the humidity and the heat both in the nineties.
At least during the cold weather because during the summer I don't have to worry about if it's too hot.
Like I said I have been doing research all over the place so I know my stuff but I would rather ask people that know so that I can get some helpful suggestions and recommendations.
There are several things that I want to update including a fogger. Sometime within the next six months right now it's replacing the light and covering the enclosure somewhat on the top so the humidity doesn't escape.
I was just curious if anyone could give me some suggestions as far as supplements
We have many pet stores in my area including triple L reptile.
So I would like to get the calcium vitamin with d3
And plain calcium without
Thank you very much for taking your time in reading my message I just got it today but I can take some pictures tomorrow so that people can see how simple it is and that way I can get some suggestions.
I'm aware of the matter habitats and I know that their tropical. But I would rather leave a message on this forum compared to just browsing around on the Internet.
Thank you for your time in reading this message and I look forward to some feedback.
Overall it's pretty healthy
Are humidity is usually about 60 or 80% so I will be misting the enclosure have only three times a day in the morning in the afternoon and before bedtime.
Please all suggestions and helpful criticism is appreciated.
The Tokay has a giant bowl filled up with water and water as well as a couple live plants in little pots to raise the humidity but I don't think it's sufficient. Going to get a humidity gauge as well as the temperature gauge so it has one of each permanently.
