Default Taking a tokay to the Vet ?

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Creep is sick and I need to take him to a vet. I don't think there are any reptile vets near me but maybe I can find one that is willing to help. Anyone got any experience doing this please let me know did you take a tank with him to keep it in or just take him in a box? How much did the visit cost? Did you have to leave it at the vet office?

If you're taking the whole animal to the vet, I'd suggest putting him in a "gladware" type container that has holes poked in it. If you're taking a fecal sample to have it checked for parasites, I'd put it in a zip lock bag (the fecal sample...not the gecko!). Most any decent vet should be able to do a fecal exam on the poop to look for parasites (which he most likely has). Cost can vary. You'll need a fresh sample that is less than 24 hours old if you can get one.

Make sure that he's being kept warm enough in this temporary enclosure. Low temps will slow digestion as well as feeding and you may not get the fecal sample that you need.

Thanks I do have a spare light to put on him. One other question do I just lay the paper towels in the bottom flat and how many layers should I make it.

Well I finally found a vet and he wants me to bring in the tokay too. I was hoping to avoid this and just bring in the faecal sample. I didn't want to stress him any more than I had to. Hopefully I can convince him to just give me the medicine to administer myself for the follow ups.

Here is an update I took my Tokay to the vet today and took a faecal sample the vet said he defiantly had parasites but it wasn't something he was used to seeing because doesn't get may reptiles but he was very interested in helping and said he would do the research.

He gave me some panacur c normaly for dogs to give to him.
My question is has anyone used this on a gecko before and how did it work?
Also He said If I knew of any other wormer that people commonly used for tokays let him know.
