I keeping seeing people saying they feed their's Tokay Gecko a chicken livers and why they would do that? That is not part of their diet aint it?

Not good at all. they are used in the phillipenes for fattening them up. Tokay's fetch more money the more they weigh. a 400g+ tokay will fetch an absolute fortune.

dont feed it chicken livers!

The only reason they are selling them is bc for some reason people think eating tokays cures aids. Ridiculous. Don't get HIV/aids in the first place. Duh

I agree with this, but you can't help it and I doubt you could have chosen it if you're a child who was born with it. It's not just people being stupid.

No, but what is stupid is eating Tokays in hopes that it's going to cure something. And what is even more stupid is these people that keep coming on to these forums talking about feeding their tokays tons of chicken livers and such in order to get them as fat as possible so that they can then sell them for large sums of money to be eaten. People who expect to get advice from those of us that love geckos, only so that they can try to make some quick $$$ off of the sale and death of the animal.

Agreed I understand that children are born with HIV and that is horrible. But it's also horrible to hunt amazing animals to kill them and eat them in some desperate hope to cure aids. I doubt it was The children that have HIV that started that rumor to Create mass demand for an animal to jack the price up. I'm sorry cultural differences may have a factor in this but people will not get any help from me on how to make them money on the Baseless death of an amazing animal. Have them as pets, or leave them in the wild. But dont sell them to the highest bidder. Rely on proven medicine alone.

+1 on that, actually i would rather give the exact opposite of help to those people....
