Question tokay gecko viv size

soon i'm going to start building ma viv for a pair of tokay's so i just want to know if 3 foot high by 2 foot wide will be ok for them .

Yes, mine is same. My Tokay is small at moment so it is in small tank for while til it is big enough to be in my 3ft tank.

Well, you didn't say how deep it is. But these are large geckos that truly utilize their space. So the bigger the better honestly. I'm not going to give a "minimum size" as I think with a species like this, you should simply be housing them in as big as possible. They need a lot of space and the more you give them, the happier they will be.

My tank is 4'x2'x2', About 100gal, keep my adult pair in there.

thanks for the reply guys , the viv will be 3'x2'x2' , nothing is set in stone so i can add a couple of ft to it .

In my opinion 2' deep is about as deep as one should ever construct an enclosure that is not of walk-in design. The limiting factor being your own ability to reach into the enclosure and maintain it.

Of course height can also become a limiting factor for the same reasons, with as fast as these geckos can be you will not want to be standing on a stool while trying to catch a tokay.

Vivariums need to be owner friendly too. A difficult to maintain enclosure becomes a neglected enclosure.
