Default Geko egg?

I feel like a newb sometimes asking these ?'s. well i am a newb with tokays so here goes. my tokay hasn't eaten much in the past few days and it was concerning me. when i tried to find her today she was laying on two little eggs. she ate pretty good tonight. about 12 crickets but she was looking pretty skinny. she took after the crickets as soon as i put them in the tank which was cool because she hasn't done this in a few days. I have had her for about a month and the pet store probably had her for a month as well. Is it possible the breeder they got her from sent out a fertilized tokay? I was just wanting some tips to get her a healthy weight again from some one who breeds tokays. Also would like some info about gestation periods and incubation times. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I've never heard of anything like that, how do the eggs look? Do they look ok?

It's more likely that she's wild caught and was gravid before the pet store got her. They can retain sperm for quite some time. They may be duds, but my philosophy is to always treat all eggs as if they're fertile until I know 100% for sure that they aren't (ie they either mold or shrivel up)

right now they are a good egg shell white. i havent got a real close look at them for fear of stressing the mama out to much. i will treat the eggs as if they are fertile because it would be neat to have some unexpected babys. i just have no idea of what im doing. the eggs are in a spot that stays between the 80s and mid 70s. would it be ok to clean the substrate out? its about that time. once again thanks for the info guys. any and all help is appreciated.

Try not to get the eggs overly wet when you mist the cage, otherwise, they should be just fine left where they are. You can clean the cage around them. And to answer your earlier question, average time to hatch is about 100 days. But that can vary a lot depending on temps, etc.

Tokay eggs won't mold or shrivel. The female will usually eat them after a while if they are duds. Or they will eventually fall off of the wall. They can take a fair amount of water as well. You would pretty much have to keep them consistently soaked to hurt them with water. Good luck with the baby's!

you have some beautiful herps girl. like the pick of the baby blue on the back of the one tokay. I want to get a male to go with my female but i dont know what i would do with the baby's. the eggs ive got (if fertile) were a surprise to me. maybe i could just get another female to give her company. just got to wait until my dubia colony gets established.

will the eggs fall off the wall if they are fertile? thanks again guys for the help.

Oh thanks! I love my babies! No if fertile the eggs will stay up. I have a bizzilion little guys around it's hectic thats for sure. But hey I can't complain theyre my life. Females can be a little territorial and if your planning on hatching eggs out another girl will eat the others eggs. But ive kept single girls together for years as long as they start on neutral territory.
