Coin toss, they are 100% correct 50% of the time, except when sexing parthenogenic species and known egg layers.
Actually it the tail base you look at, females have less pronounced spurs and a more uniform transition from base to tail. Preanal pores look to be free of any extruding, as best I can tell in this particular picture.
In your other pictures it appears that overall bulk and structure also supports the maleness of this gecko.
I could be wrong of course, but I do believe it to be a male.

Thanks for the lesson Maurice. I have always felt he was a male, don't ask why, but its nice to have that confirmation.
At least now I don't need to change his name

I'll just say this, I'm on my phone looking at your pictures, about 180 miles away from my computer, that being said I'm 90+% sure.
There are a couple of members here that might confirm or refute my assessment, so please don't become worried if their opinion differs.

PS the tail will grow back, you'll notice it forever but it still looks nice. Try offering superworms by tongs, along with the crickets, that should help put a bit more energy in the diet and help speed up tail regeneration.

The pic I posted here is a few weeks old. The tail is now about half inch long and seems to be getting longer every day. I tried super worms but he doesn' seem too interested. I am gonna get some nightcrawlers tomorrow for my tiger salamander and figure I may try one on Davidson. Also I am getting a new gecko tomorrow evening so will have to pick up some CGD for it so will try that.
Thanks a million for your help Maurice I really appreciate it! Learning so much on my two forums I belong to.

I have just one male that goes for CGD, none of the others do.
As for superworms, feeding from long tongs helps you put the worms right up close to the gecko and that often gets a feeding response right away.
All of mine are fed supers, either by tongs or by elevated cup feeding.
My opinion is that fruit is a very small portion of their diet, and even then not exactly a required addition.
Just make sure the insects are well fed and hydrated, plus lightly dusted with a quality phosphorus free calcium powder that contains vitamin D3. Feed as often as every day, but not less than every third day, offer as much as the gecko will consume in 15 minutes or so on the every third day schedule.
Holden's are skittish but bold when being fed, and can gain a bit of trust in their owners if interaction is stress free.
They will bite, so wash your hands prior to interaction and after, for the safety of your gecko and other pets.
Side note, crested geckos and amphibians should never come into contact, the hand washing thing is very important in keeping the two isolated from one another. What goes for hands also goes for shared equipment as well.
