Cool Tokay gecko feeding help!!

do I need herptivite for my tokay or is it enough to just dust crickets with calcium.

Yes. Unless you are raising and producing extremely healthy feeder insects for them to eat. Basically the ones you get from the store and the usual lack of variety in the captive geckos diet will lead to some vitamins and minerals being missed. This is where mixing the herptivite and repcal and then dusting the crickets helps. If your gecko is an adult probably once a week is good(unless it is a breeding female). When I used those supplements I mixed them 1:1.

I only dust my crickets every few feedings or so and have not seen any issue with it.

ok so my tokay is about two weeks now. so should i already b dusting or when should i start?

Two weeks old? I would start now. Growing babies need extra calcium in their diets. I would say every feeding or every other feeding do the dust.

You can dust crickets now, it wouldn't do any harm really.

I agree. Young, growing, babies need lot's of calcium (with D3, without Phos.). Otherwith you're risking metabolic bone disease and other issues. Start right away.

Always gut load your crickets as well. I generally use cricket dust or the water capulates along with natural vegitagles.
