Is this a G. smithii/green eyed gecko?
I am looking at getting this pair, but can I just get a species ID, they look like G. smithii, is this right?

As far as I know siamensis are kept pretty much the same as tokays. However, I've not worked with siamensis personally, so I'm certainly no expert on their care. Hopefully someone with some experience with them will chime in.

Hopefully, as I would like to do this right, I guess these guys are pretty hard to come by at the best of times, dont want to let this chance go by. The seller has them in an exo terra 18" cube, with a 2% UV anda fogger, some bark, and afew plants, minimalistic is an overstatement! haha
Infact, this is what they are in right now!
And this is what I have spare at the moment, an exo terra 18"x18"x24" which I did have set up for my pair of R. chahoua, but think these guys will need it more, will whack a basking spot on there for around 90f, well thats the plan atleast until I get some direction!

Yes, nice looking siamensis. Looks like a pair with the male above,
I would not keep them like tokays. These are rock and not tree dwellers and without a rather cold and dry winter season they -at least in my hands- do not reproduce.
If they breed, they never are very prolific.
You can call you very happy if you experience a year with three clutches and happy, if they reproduce at all every year.
Best regards
Ingo

Thanks for the reply.
I have not got them yet, will be collecting them next weekend, so I have a week to make sure I have the set up correct. I have searched the net and cant seem to find much info about keeping them, hopefully you can answer some questions to help me get the set up right.
What temperatures and humidity do you recommend? For winter and for summer?
Vivarium furniture/decor? what do you use? I have some large cork tubes and flats, will get more and pile them up to create gaps for them to hide in. Do you have any pictures of your set ups? as that will help me alot.
Thanks

Hi,
as said, they are rock dwellers and thus, I use a fake rock backwall. But they also make use of branches and bark.
A slightly open rainforest setup thus works well for them
I keep tham at daytemps around 25-33°C in summer with a significant night drop.
In winter, temps drop down to about 15°C. While I mist the cage (automatically) 4 times a day in summer, I mist only once every other day in winter.
Hope that helps
Ingo

Have you tried using the GU search feature? I just typed in "siamensis" and found some decent information (much of it from Ingo). You just have to dig around a bit.
