Exclamation Am i ready

Okay im new to this, but this is what i have so far...29 gallon tank 30Lx12Wx18H, Zilla 30'' fluroscent/halogen combo(built in timers), ZooMed eco earth coconut/forest floor mixed over top of 1/2'' gravel, 2 med sized pieces of driftwood, kritters hollowed hider mounted to front of tank bout 8'' up, 2-exoterra vines mounted, ZooMed Giant Rock Heater, zilla hygrometer/thermometer combo, 2-magnaturals jungle vine bridges, and ZooMed repticalcium w/ d3...Now my room does get somewhat cold during the winter, and night temps drop in my room to around 55-60* all year round... is there anything else i need or should have before i purchase my Tokay(which is from Petco, the gentleman i spoke with "said" they purchase them from a breeder.) Any information would be greatly appreciated....

is the rock heater a heat rock you mean? like a rock that plugs in? you don't want one of those they burn them cause they get too hot, a rock under the heat source will do the trick just fine.

just make sure the heat is 85-95 year round, when winter comes you might wanna buy a 250watt heat emitter and put it on a thermostat, that'll last you 5 years.

so, heat, calcium, lots of crap to hide under, big enough tank, and substrate, sounds about good. i'd say get something to keep crickets in (lots of crickets, maybe a 10 gallon tank), or w/e you're deciding to feed it, and then you're good.

Wise choice IMO. I love those lights.

Did you get one with black or red halogen lamp(s)?
If so, leave the halogens on 24/7 for a couple days and check your day and night temps.

If not, see about getting a set of black or red lamps. Those fixtures will throw out ALOT of heat and just might do the trick for heating your vivarium, without any bottom heat at all.

As for Petco having cb tokays, I'd seriously doubt that one. Make the sales person hold it while you look over it very closely for mites and or scars to be safe.

Default thanks

i appreciate all the feedback; guess ima take back my heat rock; and the bulbs are red day light, black night light, 1 clear heat, and the UV bar light...I do have a 10 gallon tank somewhere around the garage...we got a vet in town that does handle reptiles so ill give em a call and have it checked out... the other thing i was worry about was if that tank would be adequate for male/female combo???

First off take back the rock heater if they wont take it back throw it away one of the two.

Sounds like you have everything you need but I would get some heat for night if your room gets down in the 60s at night. In the winter I have let mine get down to 68F at night. I would try to keep it atleast in the low 70s at night and they will be fine as long as they get to warm back up during the day.
