Hello from Brazil!
First, great forum you guys got going on here!
My name is Rafael, I'm 25 years old, work in a lab (I'm a pharmacist) and I live in Santa Catarina, a state in south of Brazil. The only gecko I've seen around here is Hemidactylus mabouia, really don't know if there are others species in my region. We have a rich fauna around here in the Atlantic Forest, but not as rich as the Amazon in the north as we have a tempered climate.
I've always been very interested in exotic animals since I was a kid (own a corn snake & 4 spiders) and always had a thing for geckos, but since it's illegal to own these animals here they're very hard to get. But now I just met some leopard gecko breeders, and I'm really excited about getting my very first gecko! I'm reading everything there is to read about them, and just can't wait to get one.
