Default Hello from Virginia!

Hello I am new to this forum and I just wanted to introduce myself. I love reptiles, but am just starting the hobby. I got my first reptile about 4 years ago it was an egyptian uromastyx, which was so beautiful and docile. She died last year in March. It broke my heart. I now have 3 Crested geckos. I know 2 of them are females, but the other one is just 2 weeks old. 1 of the females is laying eggs every month, but they are not fertile. She has never been with another gecko except for the other female which she chased around the cage and bit. I put some raindeer moss in their cages it is ok for reptiles? The newest member of my family is a baby crested gecko with beautiful colors. Mabye a tiger? I got him/her Saturday the 28th. It has not eaten any on its own because it doesn't like to move from her plant. I dabbed CGD on its nose and it licked it off, but hasn't eaten since. How can I tell if it is eating. I can't tell if it has pooped because I put it in a 76 quart sterilite tub. Can someone please help me with this little monster. Thanks

Hi Chris ~

Welcome to Geckos Unlimited !

Thanks for sharing some of your reptile experiences. This makes GU more interesting.

How is your new hatchling crested faring? Doing better eating?

Do you have another name for "reindeer moss"?

If you feed crickets now and then, are you dusting them with phosphorous-free calcium with D3? I like the Rep-Cal brand.

Thanks for caring about my problems. Yeah I decided to name the hatchling crestie radar. I guess it was wednesday that radar started exploring his habitat. I was so excited. The next night I noticed booklice in my bamboo hide. I cleaned it out and cut a huge hole out of the top so the cage would get more ventilation. If I hadn't found the mold I wouldn't have found his first poop. If he's pooping he must be eating. Don't worry about the moss I got rid of it because the booklice were also inside that. Thanks.
