Default rescued mediterranean geckos

Hello (and please excuse the spelling, very late and tired!) Two days ago we rescued two baby geckos from a fire ant pile that we believe we have identified on-line as mediterranean geckos, which are apparently common here in Texas. We currently have them recuperating in a ten gallon tank that is being heated by a 75watt UVA bulb for daytime, and 75 watt red heat light at night. They are on reptile carpet and we added a small cave, some smooth rocks and two large pieces of bark. (These were all items we already had thanks to numerous fish tanks and a turtle tank.) We bought two small shallow bowls for water and food as well as a thermometer that is inside the tank. They are very tiny, less than an inch in length. They have been crashed until this evening when they finally started moving around so I hope they are getting better. Are these geckos that can be kept in captivity, or should they be released once they are well? I'm sorry to be so wordy, just wanted to give as much information as I can. Any advice recived will be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much for this website that I finally found and for your help.

Med House geckos can be kept in captivity... I have approx 30+ and eggs in the incubator at the moment... They are a non-native species here in florida and are always seen at night around the lights where bugs gather... also they tend to tame down very fast as i have one juvie "Night Crawler" who will jump onto my hand when i reach into his tank which also houses 2 six line race runners, a baby florida softshell turtle, and a very very old & very tame green anole names Mozart... they were all caught in the same area of the resort i worked at and have been co-inhabiting the terrarium very well for almost 3 months now... Buut yes Mediterranean House Geckos can be kept in captivity...
