Good that the juvies are unrelated and that they have a varied diet.

I really cannot continue this conversation until you know the temps. That may be the key to any difficulties. It is very important to begin at Square One! You can buy a digital thermometer at places like Radio Shack for $20 or less. They will be open on Saturday. Those dial-type thermometers can be very inaccurate.

I don't really know how long it will take for the poop to return to normal. "Not long" I would say, as long as nothing else is interfering.

About the heat, maybe the hot side is too hot? I will say that it is very difficult to maintain a proper thermal gradient within a 10 gallon tank.

A 20 gallon long at 30 inches long x 12 inches high will keep a single leo, a pair, or two females happy for life---no more upgrades !

Get three 12" square slate tiles for the substrate and you'll be set for their lives!

I have two of my leos on total slate tile and then two of them on a combination slate tile (80%) and small rocks about the size of quarters. They all seem to love their tanks, the slate tile really does a nice job of conducting the heat.
