Update- the 55 gallon was a whopping 20" tall. And the more i looked at it the more worried about filling and heating the big tank. So I ran out got the 30 gallon that was suggested, couple more hides and moss to make a moist hide. I haven't got the UTH, simply because of cost at the moment, I know where to find them a bit cheaper. I'm going to set the tank up today and hopefully they will get along. They have seen eachother through glass for the last 7 months so we will see! Looking around , I read that UTH will increase ambient temps from 5-10* F, any for sure. Thanks!

Did you just buy the 20 gallon long which is 30 inches long? Very nice!!

Experiment with the moss for the moist hide on the warm end of the tank. Depends upon the leo. Some leos like dampened paper towel strips instead, but they don't hold the moisture as well.

Yeah I meant a 20 which is 30" long... I have put them together.. they have looked at each other a lot. He came up to her and his tale started vibrating! So I intervened, not sure what was going on. Am I going to stress her out? Any suggestions? She's taking cover, while he's adventuring everywhere

Humm-mm--mm, are you prepared for hatchlings? Both your leos are "of age"! The tail wagging sounds like a mating call! Keep your eye out for signs of aggression especially during the early hours and days of their transition to co-habitation.

Sometimes PetCo has a $1 per gallon sale.

I may just have to separate them, i didnt realize that putting them together was going to have them mate. Should have researched more, im not sure I could do the whole breeding thing. i feell the stress and age would upset her a lot

one 3 yo male + one 14 yo female = hatchlings

How close in size are Ringo and Sandra? Any fights? It is typical for a male to bite the female on the neck to hold on to her while mating. Should not cause any critical damage.

On the other hand, two females of equivalent size could be quite comfortable in a 20 gallon long tank for life.

No sure what their weight difference is.I'll take pictures tomorrow. I seperated them for now. How hard is it to take care of the hatchlings. Is this bad for Sandra, being 14 and never laying an egg?

Raising leo hatchlings is not hard at all. Don't think it would be hard on Sandra being a new mom at 14 yo. You might post a separate thread in the leopard gecko subforum to see what the leo pros say.

I've only raised a single leo hatchling from Cha, the female I have now. Sold the hatchling when she was about 5 months old. That hatchling was female.

Well I have made a thread in the Leos only section. (http://www.geckosunlimited.com/commu...-together.html) let me know what you think. Mardy thinks it will stress out the female, and is pass egg laying age. So looks like my male, may have just upgraded from a 10 to 20gal tank, or just clean the 20 and return it. lol! But either way, please comment over there, and hopefully we'll come up with a good solution for the new tank, old tank, and older gecko!
