Default New to here and the critters. :)

Hello there! My name is Margot or ShadowCatsKey. I've recently begun research on Panther/Pictus Geckos and will be getting on once I get a habitat set up and I come across one.

I'm very, very green to all of this... Very. Never had a reptile before, and I'm excited to be getting one.
I've been reading up on member comments on this and a few other places, and other care sheets. It'll be a while before I get a critter, but I have two tanks, a standard 10 gallon & a long 20 gallon tank [30" L x 13" W x 12" T] that I can use.
I'll probably end up using the 20, since I love giving my critters more room so they're happy.

A few things I've picked up while researching, but please correct me if I'm wrong- not to use any sort of sand substrate for the Panthers, not to make anything too high so they don't fall, plenty of hiding places, temperatures around 75-85, Panthers don't necessarily need UV lighting and the cage should be kept misted / a bowl provided.

If anyone could give me a few tips on how to set up a habitat, links to additional places I could read, I'd be thankful

Thank you! Right now I'm just going about making myself a list of the necessary things so I know how much to save. I've found places that seem like they're very diligent in their care instructions, but I'm new and some terms confuse me, so... I'm trying to get it all straight in my mind. So far I've got this..

*Heater of some sort, lamp / under tank
*Reptile carpet
*Temperature / humidity monitor
*Hiding places, at least one damp hiding place
*A couple things to climb on
*Food with the nutrition supplements

It seems like so little...! But I've seen photos of habitats and it looks like they have similar setups..
