We are newbie to the world of geckos!!!!

We have just got ourselves a chinese cave gecko I have (hopefully) included two pictures of him (still unamed) si is thinking for Yoshi whick I think suits him

Im a tad concerned tho as I have said we are total newbies an I got him from a repile shop, and the owner sold me a heat mat and light to go in the vivanium, its nice and humid on there I just worry as I was tol I dont need a termostat??!!! and I should mist every eve.... I just worry he may over heat so im thinking i should get a termostat and maybe not have the light on to much?

Here's an excellent care sheet a forum member put together GONIUROSAURUS care sheet. Anytime you us a heat source, a thermostat is a really good idea to regulate the heat.

Hi, thanks i have got a thermostat winging its way to us as i type!!

Yoshi's mum......good name choice

Right im a little concerned as Yoshi hasnt eaten a thing since I brought him home!
I have read that they may go off their food for a little while after being moved into a new enviroment but its what a week now, he seems ok in himself for example when i came down this morning he was hanging upside down on his cork log so its clear he is moving around during the night.
we have tried to leave him alone as much as poss and for the last 2 days ive covered his viv with a blanket so it super dark and his light off his light in hope he may eat a 'hopper' that the reptile shop told me too feed him, we brought some mealworms yesterday in hope of temping him to eat and i am changing his water every day.
simon noticed a small patch of white skin on his head almost looks like hes starting to shed so i rang the reptile shop to ask if he was due but she couldn't remeber :s

i have googled and googled but as the cave geckos arnt that common not much info about it so i thought i would plage you lovely poeple!!!!!

any ideas as to what eles we can do would be fantasic thank you xxx
