Hi Peeps! I'm new on here too as I've just started off my gecko collection.
I'm the proud owner of
[] A male Ocellated velvet gecko called Eno
[] A pair of bearded Dragons named McNulty and Bubbs
[] and an unsexed Blue Tongued Skink called Wonka.
I started my little collection 18 months ago when my son was diagnosed with asthma. Gone were the days of furry pets!!! I've always loved blue tongues - Now I had the perfect excuse to splash out and get one. Wonka quickly became part of the household, although he (I have never had "him" sexed, I always refer to "him" as a "he") is very much a mummy's boy. He shys away from anybody else, but is very close to me. He now makes eye contact with me, as well as signaling for attention by patting the viv glass. Such a smart boy! He loves to curl around my neck and climb up my sleeve.
Bubbs (female) and McNulty (male) came next. My mother was no longer able to look after them as she was moving to a new, smaller home - So I quickly snapped them up! My children have always loved to visit them, as they are a friendly pair of beardies, and will happily be petted. They are in a kind of brumation state at moment, but during the summer months they spent most of their days exploring my living room and being hand fed meal worms by my son! They absolutely adore them, often mimicking the head bobbing and waving. However, my daughter was a little shocked when she witnessed a rather brutal mating ritual
And Eno is my first gecko. I got him from a local reptile shop a month ago and he is settling in well. He doesn't enjoy being handled but is stunning to admire. I am hoping to find him a mate soon but I haven't had any luck finding a breeder yet. He amazed me by refusing food for the first week, eventually only accepting rather massive size 5 crickets. Little guzzler!
Thankyou for reading, and I look forward to gaining more insight and knowledge from this site
