I was just wondering if allot of people have the book A Fieldguide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Madagascar (second edition). I ordered it a few days ago and it finally came in the mail. It is a real good source of information and lists all the geckos in Madagascar including uroplatus and gives a description. Also if your big in the uroplatus species you know its hard to come by an actual picture of a uroplatus malahelo...correct Well when I was flipping through the uroplatus section it labeled a gecko stated to be a uroplatus malahelo and it was the weirdest uroplatus I had ever seen. Most of the pictures floating around on the Internet are of imposters but this is decently not the normal sikorae, guentheri etc. This gecko even looks different from the malahelo picture in the Keeping and breeding leaf tailed geckos the Genus uroplatus. Anyway it a very good book and is a wealth of information.
One of my favourite books; i have two copies of it. One tattered for the field and a nice one for home use
unfortunately, there are so many species of frogs and reptiles that have been described since that time, so a new edition would be a great thing....
6 years is a long time! I got it off of zoobooksales.com. I do not know if they have any more. There is one on e-bay at the moment for a very good price. Also http://exoticpetslv.com/ has a copy availible. (zoobooks is cheaper though).
