Default U. pietschmanni pics

Hi, first post on forum. Been keeping and breeding uroplatus for around 7 years. Just some pics of my female cork bark. Some with flash, others with out (get a better sense of depth w/o). These guys have been some of the easiest Uros to keep. Enjoy!
Nick

Hi Robin,

They are in a tank that is very similiar to an exo. It was made by Action Screen Cages which is no longer around.
They have been problem free for the most part (knock on wood!), and were by far the easiest to acclimate. I've worked with henkeli, lineatus, phants, and ebenaui and aside from the henkeli I would say they are one of the easiest species to keep (breeding is another thing).

This is one of my males I just got in. I have been hearing mixed stories of acclimating pietschmanni. I have 2.4 phantasticus and they came in much better condition then the pietschmanni did, but it's day 3 for me and they seem to be bouncing back very nicely. One of my dehydrated males has cleanly shed and his tail is unfurling again. I have a large female which I have seen feed vigorously, but I haven't seen the smaller female feed though it doesn't appear that she is skinny. Most of them I have just been hydrating and treated for mites. They feed so they seem ok. One of them I tried giving some calorie appetite stimulant, but I am not sure if I did that unnecessarily. My phantasticus are so active at night, but I have had them for awhile. The pietschmanni seem to like to stick to their area, and they have a huge tank. Maybe it's because they aren't fully use to their new surroundings I guess. These are my first pietschmanni, and I think I might be over analyzing everything, but I am trying to be safer than sorry.

Both my pairs did fairly well when I first got them. One pair had some mites, the bright red ones, but those were easily taken care of with some oil. I also sometimes used a dab of dish soap for the ones on the feet.

Those are all really nice cork's everyone!

gollum,
providing them with a period of cooler temps seems to help trigger things. In range they normally have a cooler and dryer "winter"

thanks, in this moment they are a 18-19°C during the day and 14-15° night, but I want to reduce temps and light next month also.
