Allen, the best way to see difference between the henkeli populations is during the day. Then the animals can look totaly different then during the night. I can see big difference in colour between my henkeli populations.
I think your henkeli is normal -Nosy Be , he is just in good condition, maybe ewen too fat-hes tail.

Hey Grep,
i`ll take some pictures tomorrow during the day then. Till now, i can only speak of my pair. My populaties will take another year or so....

Too fat would be strange, since his tail has been this way from the day i have him.
Also, for a fat animal, they still react quit fast. I can feed them every night for a week, and after that they still act like they haven`t seen a cricket in a month. But they only get food 2-3 times a week.

Ok Allen, Just do not feed them too much, 2 to 3 times I wekk is enough.
If Uroplatus are too fat they will not breed good.

Well done, I love seeing CB Uroplatus. With regards to the ssp, I remember reading a while ago about 'Diego' henkeli that were smaller and stockier than henkeli. Do you have some more pics of the adults please?

yeah, about three years ago i had w.c. female and figured it would be a good ideat to "fatten" her up. Going into the breeding season she was real "healthy" lookin and put on a lot of weight. She kinda got burnt out and produced a good amount of eggs, but died due to it. I would probably say it would be more important to monitor a females weight than a males weight though.

good lookin animals
