Default U.aff.henkeli hatchlings

Had some great news this morning, got up to find that after 81 days cooking at 25C both my U.aff.henkeli eggs had hatched. i posted up some photos of the adults quite a while ago when i wasnt quite sure what i had,

Uroplatus henkeli identification

but now i have the babies as well i can be pretty certain they are not 'normal' henkeli. sorry i cant post pics right now but i will post them up this evening, im just so happy they hatched ok as it was thier only decent clutch i got from them this year (first two other clutches crickets beat me to them both times!).

Cheers, will

Congratulation Will, keep on with good work. Hope that you will have some more. I have also the Nosy Be henkeli and two other forms of henkeli.
Hope that I will have some babys next year, the animals are still young.
If you have enough babys do not forget me!

Appologies for not posting photos yet, its taking forever to upload them to photobucket, at first glance they appear more like sikorae hatchlings than henkeli but ill let you make your minds up tommorow when i get photos up.

Cheers, will

Heres some photos as promised,

Heres one of the adult male as well.

its just a shame i havent managed to get a photo showing the size of thier dermal fringe/'beard' yet as its massive and with orange and black bands all the way alsong. also ill try to upload a side profile shot of one of them as they have what appears to be short faces for a henkeli.

Cheers, will

That's good that you got those clutches. I think that those are henkeli but possibly abberant? First morph for the henkeli? They are some sweet looking hatchlings and the I love the dad's banded pattern.

Will I think I have same population of henkelis that you have. I have small CB group, it looks 2,1. Hope that I will have some babys next year. These henkelis suposed to come from area of Berara forest. If I remember right the name of that area. The colouration and how they look is tipical for that area.
I also have some babys of henkelis from Ankarana area and they look different then those from Berara or Nosy Be.
These is just my opinion!
