Default U. ebenaui sleeping behaviour

Hello everyone,

This morning when I was looking for new eggs of my ebenaui, I found one of my females to be sleeping in the moss on the ground, exactly on the spot where she is depositing her eggs lately. It is quite new to me, but any of you guys found yours to be sleeping in the moss? She is a normal active breeding female in good condition, so there no signs of health problems.

Thank you for your reply!

Some females guard the eggs for some time. From around 2 hours and up to 2days.

Very interesting... Is that the same if the eggs have already been taken away from that place two weeks ago? I haven't seen it other species of uroplatus.

If the eggs were laid 2 weeks ago then these behavior meens something else. It could be that the female is checking the laying site again.
