Default Opinions Please (Uroplatus ID)

I know this subject tends to be very subjected to debate but just wanted to see what you guys think.
I bought these yesterday at our Reptile Expo(Toronto).. Uroplatus malama. I found the few threads here about U.malama very interesting and hope some of you can shed some light on them. Especially seeing that ads for these guys have popped up a few times this past season on Kingsnake.
Anyhoo I find them really cool regardless of what they are!

Fantastic looking Uroplatus ! Sorry I can't be of much help with the ID, but they both look amazing. One of the only photos that I have seen of U. Malama looked very similar to the female gecko that you have there.
Best of luck with keeping and hopefully breeding this species.

Did you find the thread about my "malama"? When it comes down to it i really believe these will end up being another type of phantastics or ebenaui.

These use to come in as "long-tailed ebenaui". You could get them alot as phantasticus. I remember paying $18ea for a few back in the day.

They are cool geckos regardless and we really dont know WTF they are.

Good score bro

I have no idea what you have there. Male looks like aff.ebenaui from Montagne d`Ambre , but I am not shure. Female is not from that form and how it looks it is probably phantasticus. As it looks you can have 2 different forms. But I could be wrong. These is just my opinion.
The problem with Uroplatus species is, that the collectors are starting to collect animals at new places where they did not collect them before. There are 2 reasons. First one is that the Uroplatus are becoming more and more difficult to collect in large numbers at usual places. They have collected just too many of them in the past. And the second one is that people like to have rare species or new forms and the exporters provide it usualy if they can.

Hope that you have male and female from same population or form (as you like) and that you will have succes breeding them. I am allways excited if I see something new or different from Uroplatus species. All the best!!!

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards the aff.ebenaui myself. I appreciate your help.

Gary - I found the threads about yours very interesting. I have to say that this might sound silly, but with these 2 I have ,they just have this presence about them that makes them not Phants and not Ebenaui. If that makes any sense at all?

But regardless of what they are, they're mine and I'm very happy to have them
