While constant temperatures around 20-22°C will be good for the animals, i think that variable temp`s and humidity through the year would be slightly better. Ofcourse not 30°C, but a difference off 3 to 5°C maybe...?

I agree, it is our job to mimic their environment as close as possible.

Allen, I speak only for Phantasticus: I keep them near 13°C for 2-3 months in winter, then the temps increase until to 24-26°, 27° is the max I recorded.
In winter I sprayed 1 time every 7-10 days, in the other seasons every day or so. With this parameters, I keep and breed Phantasticus with success.

Simone,
Do you keep records of the temp and especially off humidity during the year?
Because you say that during the the cold months you only mist 1 time in a week. But because of the location off your enclosures and the cold temp the humidity will probably stay relatively high, not...?

Exactly, for reasons that do not depend from me (water-infiltrations in my reptile-room), the humidity was high last winters.
Now the problem is resolved, but I think this was the cause of my breeding-problems with Pietschmanni, because I think they want a cold and dry winter before the breeding-season.

stupid question maybe, but do you not have a cooler place in your house?
Even if you cannot fix a light or something, a basement or such...?
I`m even thinking about putting them outside, in some exo-terra`s. Since reptiles are better "warmth-resistant" outside with fresh air etc... Only need to find a safe spot=> CATS!!

I agree with Allen, a basement would solve the issue. An a/c would defiantly be a positive addition. It is what I use. I have one with a built in thermostat; it keeps the room at 75F (24 C). It helps put my mind at ease when I can not be at home to check on the geckos.
