Default Uroplatus pietschmanni mites?

Hey Im new to the forums and recently bought a female U.pietschmanni...well I have noticed little red dots on her and am afraid that theyre mites. I have never had any kind of mites before and dont know a thing about mites on geckos. Also she was in my animal room for just over a day, and I have tons of other animals in there...tarantulas, other geckos and chameleons. Anyone know what I should do here, I have already taken her out of the room and put her in a separate part of the house....

Isolate her right away...

put her in a simple enclosure with minimal decore...

I had them on a couple satanics...

I uses a magnifying glass and forceps that I sharpened with a dremel tool...

I picked them off individually...

The mites like the armpit region especially...

The geckos did a lot better after they had the mites removed...

she has a lot on her...
There are different solutions/mineral oil that people use...

None of my geckos had them as bad as her though...

I did isolate her right away, Put her in a separate part of the house. And then I actually tried the q tip veg oil...it worked great! All the ones I could see with the naked eye came right off. Now I just hope she can pull through the next couple days because of all the stress. And im sure I will need to treat her again in a few days or weeks, when I start to see the ones I couldnt see with my eyes. Thanks for the advice!

treat her a little at a time...

I dont think the mites are as prolific as some pests...

too much treatment at once will stress her a lot...

get rid of a few then wait a couple days...make sure she is eating too...

Mites sure as hell can be prolific pests, if left untreated. It would be best to move the gecko to a different enclosure once treatment is finished and all mites have been removed. Otherwise you can get a stubborn infestation that is extremely difficult to remedy.

The toe pads can be the most difficult area to remove mites from, and using a tweeser on the lamellae would be an unwise choice. Hopefully your gecko does not have a problem with the mites on the toes. The ear canal and corner of the eye are also difficult areas to treat with tweezers.

She does have quite a few! With my day geckos I use the qtip and veg. oil method, usually I can get them all in one treatment. As mentioned definitely keep an eye on her, since sometimes there are some stubborn ones in their ears. Good luck!
