Unhappy had a heat spike!

so yesterday I came home and it was a little to hot in the gecko room.
Right away I opened a window and grabed the U. sikorae cages and started spraying with cool water. One Of my adult females started to freek out and EVEN TRIED TO BITE ME!!! this never happens with any of them. I think the heat may have fried her brain a bit. she made it through the nigh and today is sitting at the top of a peice of cork bark at a level position with her head slightly dropped. her mouth sits open just slightly.

Is there anything other than keeping her cool and misted that I can do to help her out.

So she is still moveing around and hanging on to the cork wich is a good sign I would think. Her mouth is still slightly open and the tip of the toung is sticking out.

Should I give her another day or two before I try to feed her?

about 81. I put a few crickets in last night and she showed no interest right away. she was still a little larthargic, and the lights were still on.

today she is sitting head towards the ground on a peice of cork like a happy sikorae should be, but I did not bother her before I left for work. I could not see if her toung was still sticking out.

I am now worried about her getting enough nutrition and proper hydration.

her tail still looks good though, and I know that is a good indicator for dehydration

just out of curiosity what kind of substrate or combination do you use for the
floor of you uroplatus cages.

thanks for the help

ok thats what I have been told to use. Or Fur bark. with leaf litter on top.

by bio-actie do you mean like a dart frog viv. so you seed them with
springtail or wood lice and other things to help break down gecko waist

Hi eric, Yes I dont change the substarte. but I dont use springtails, I just mix their waste up with the substarte once every 2-3 week. or when I see it when feedning.
But under it I have, leca and a piece of garden, fabric to keep the layers separated. otherwise it would be really sloppy and quick be a swamp.

You are concerned about the temp getting to 81 degrees??? Celcius?

Cuz I would not be concerned if my geck room was at 91 for a day...91 F that is and not 91 C...

Its F, if it was C, you wouldent go intp the room. And the geckos would be dead without a deubth.

Eric: i dont have a drain in my setups now. but when Im getting some new viv's im deffinatly gonna get a drain in each, I'm sure it can help when you/one are cycle a rainseason and I cant wait to try it. I know a couple of people who use drain, and its very usefull. So if you can, then ya abselutly get one.
But at the moment, I just mist morgning and evening, and the plants take the "leftovers" and the rest gets to moist (H2O(G)).

How is she doing by the way?
