Default Uroplatus Incubation:

Hi All,
I'm trying to prepare myself for future eggs. I was wondering how you guys go about incubating your Uroplatus eggs. The species I am keeping pairs/groups of is Uroplatus Henkeli, Uroplatus Pietschmanni, Uroplatus Ebenaui, and Uroplatus Sikorae. Incubation the same for all Uroplatus or does it vary by specie. What temperatures do you incubate at and how do you set up your incubators?

Thanks for the help!
-Armen

Thanks, Luke. Do you incubate them directly on dry substrate on the saturated substrate, or just on moist substrate?
Thanks again,
-Armen

Hello
I incubate my eggs directly on moist substrate. For substrate I use large grade vermiculite mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio.

To add. ensure temps don't fluctuate to0 much towards the end of their incubation. Higher temps *will* induce them to hatch prematurely. :-/

Yeah, I had a heat spike during this incubating season...I had a fully developed female poke her nose through the shell and then die...I just had another female hatch with a completely kinked tail...

Also, this season, I tried something new... I incubated the eggs directly on perlite (as usual), but with the substrate a bit more dry.
The reason why I attempted this was because towards the end of the season last year, I had a few fertile eggs that had dents in them. They ended up cracking in the humidity because of their imperfect spherical shape.
They did have underdeveloped geckos inside.
Well, It was not such a good idea to have the substrate on the 'dry' side. As soon as I started to moisten the substrate to where it needs to be...It stimulated one henkels to hatch out prematurely, with out absorbing its yolk sac.

I had a female for around 3 years...I bought her for like $40 or $50 at the end of a reptile expo. She was in real bad shape and had NO tail.
