Default Frugivrous Uroplatus

ive heard and read stuff about U. Sikorea and U. Henkeli eating sweet nectars and fruits, i recently had my Henkels leaftail lap repashy off my finger and he really enjoys it and he seemed very lively and active since.

Is this common to have Uroplatus eat prepared fruit meals?

i do not think it is common, however some uroplatus species seem to like fruit once in a while. My U. lineatus male was always interested to have a go for banana, the female not. I have never seen any of the ebenaui complex having interest for fruit. Also my henkelis, guentheri, pietschmanni or fimbriatus have never shown any interest. I have tried banana, mango and mixed babyfruit. I do think it will be a majority of insects which should be the main diet. If they accept otherwise, i would still use it once in a while.

Yeah they sometimes accept some fruit and even yogurt but it is not comparable to other geckos like Gehyra marginata, Phelsuma or Rhacodactylus species which do take fruit as a significant part of their diet. I have sometimes given a little yogurt and fruit to my leaf-tails, it cannot harm and they digest them very well but it is in no way a staple diet

What is the frequency of fruit meals vs. insect/cricket meals on your animals? Do you add any supplement/powdered calcium to fruit?

supplementing would be important in a fruit diet for sure a. Proper liquid calcium (bird vitamin supplement works) and of course lighting to match a 2.0 UVB is minimum and i would still dust feeder insects. Repashy itself would not need to have added supplements.
i will see if he will take a small lick maybe once a week and offer it as a treat every other week. it may be a good addition as i believe in a whole round diet in all my animals

exo terra, and zoomed have liquid calcium u can mix into the fruit diet u are offering, BUT DO NOT INCLUDE CITRUS FRUITS!!
banana peach manga fig and occasional strawberry ALL CLEANED WELL
could be offered, also do not add color or pigment enhancers to Uroplatus diet like many exotic reptiles, it will can cause liver damage

I do not want to be offensive, but to make sure that fruit (or whatever other food item offered) is responsible for the effect of better health conditions, I would at least prefer to see them eat it, and if yes, how much will they eat from it and are there differences among young in consumption.
