Uroplatus sikorae: getting settled in
The girls seem to be adjusting quite well. They are not as shy as I thought they would be. Last night Lea was having trouble climbing up part of the glass section that was just misted, so I put my hand in about 2 inches away from her and she immediately climbed onto my hand to reach the branch she wanted.
Their new boyfriend should arrive on Tuesday, but they won't get to meet him until after quarantine is over.
I was able to measure them last night when they were on the side of the enclosure, Lea is 5 3/4" and Mia is 5 1/4". I know that since they are WC and we don't know their age, but do you think they still have a little bit of growing to do or that this may be their adult length?

Beautiful girls! I am in love with their moss-like coloring, my male is in brown phase almost all the time. Post more pics soon, they're very pretty girls!

Great to see that they are settling in well
I don't know what it is, but the one on the left in the photo of both of them (I think it is Lea?) she doesn't look quite as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as the other. Does she seem just as active and responsive as the other?
Very nice sikorae though, I look forward to seeing the male that you have coming soon. Just out of interest though - why not get another male and have 2 unrelated pairs?

Well, Lea passed away yesterday so I am down to 1.1 pair....I was kinda concerned about her and she had passed when I was at work.
Niko (new male) looks healthy, and so does Mia. Both are very active, so my hope is high that these two will be make it. They seem to get along really well also, so hopefully be a great pairing. Here's Niko:

Andi ~
I am very sorry to hear of Lea's passing. May she rest in peace. Have you any idea why---mites, intermal parasites? Have you treated them in any way?
(Graham, what sharp eyes you have!)
Hope that Mia and Niko will have many healthy babies.

I had a bad feeling that she might be on her way out. Sorry for your loss.
Mia looks like she's pretty strong and healthy though.
It would be a good idea to keep all of them separate for the moment, if you aren't doing so already.

I think it was probably all the stress they have had in the last couple of weeks. They had only been in the US for 2 weeks when I got them and they were all treated. No mites and no parasites, fecals were parasite free, they were drinking really well for me...so must of been to much stress.
Mia and Niko are both doing extremely well and wandering around their enclosures. How long should I keep them in their temp enclosures before putting them in the 2x3x4' enclosure?

I'm not familiar with what usually happens with WC Uroplatus because we can't (legally) get WC animals in the EU, but I would have thought that it was pretty careless of the seller to sell on the animals after only being in the country for 2 weeks...?
As I say, I don't know what is "normal", but I would have expected them to have been in the country for a couple of months at least.
As for their vivaria - what do you have them in at the moment?
I'd keep them separate for at least 5 months or so.
And the 2x3x4 vivarium - is that in feet? Seems pretty large for geckos of this size? Is it a fairly sparsely decorated vivarium? I would worry about them finding food in a vivarium that big, unless it is relatively minimalistic and sparsely decorated.
Photos of the temporary setups and the 2x3x4 would be great.
