Cool gecko. I wish I still had some ebanaui. They don't get a lot of attention, but I aleays have liked them.

I can't agree with you more Doug. I've been getting many requests for them and it seems their popularity is picking up!
I didn't mean to take away from your great photos...beautiful animal!

Nice eben's Ashley! I picked up 2 babies from Luis a few months ago, and have to say, they have a manner about them that makes them different from phantasticus and other uroplatus, but the same time, they are Uroplatus for sure! Nice shots too by the way!

Thank you everyone. This was my first uroplatus species (though I'm getting a pair of mossy's in on Friday )
I really love this gecko, she is so delicate and the first time I saw her stalk a cricket and eat, I knew I was in love. I have to find a male. The only semi affordable male I see right now is at LLL, but I don't know if I would risk the money on him right now.
Does anyone know how easy these guys are to breed? Same as mossy's?

Hi ento.
I have 1,2 U. ebenaui, but whilst my U. phantasticus started producing eggs right after settling in, my ebenauis produced nothing but dudd eggs once they matured. Annoying. Especially because I thought I kept them similar to the breeder I got them from (and he has a constant flow of babies...).
Naturally, I contacted several Uroplatus breeders and "experts" all over Europe. The echo is basically that U. ebenaui are more tricky to reproduce (hence their widespread absence in the terraristic world?), which could partly be derived from the fact that they are found in very different habitats, from the tropical Western shore around Nosy Be to the mountenous climate of Montagne D'Ambre to the cool and moist area of the East coast mountain range. So, first make sure where your critter comes from, and then set out for a male from the same region as they may not breed if they come from different regions.
Having said that, mine are siblings, and I know where their parents originate from, but I still can't breed them.
Annyway, uroplatus99, what do you mean about their manners? Mine are more active than the phantasticus, but otherwise I have no means to compare them with other leaf tail gecko species.
Regards
berit
