Default Possibly gravid female?

Three of my sikorae females have gotten rather chunky lately, with a weight gain of 2-4 grams each over the past 2 weeks. We've had them all for several months now, and they just finished meds two weeks ago, so not sure if it's them being off Albon, or if they could possibly be gravid. The one pictured started at 27g, and is now over 30g. All of them still have rather large calcium sacs though. What's the typical weight gain for a gravid sikorae?

She looks pretty thick, although its not really easy to tell if Uroplatus are gravid. I've found that its easier to see eggs in my Rhacodactylus species as appose to Uroplatus.

Is there a male in the enclosure?

She was seen breeding with a male at the reptile store over two months ago, the other two that are looking pretty fat were both housed with males, one until three weeks ago, and the other until about a week and a half ago. My 4th female has never been caged with a male, and her weight has been pretty consistent at around 25g.

I've got a pair of Sikorae that I paired a few months ago, and I've been wondering the same question. My girl is very rotund, and last time I checked I think she weighed 33g. If this is the way she will look normally, I have no idea how to tell if she's gravid because I've thought she was for 6 weeks now.

Good luck figuring yours out.

Well, one of them laid a single uncalcified egg today, which I am rather baffled at since they all have rather large calcium sacs. On a sadder note, my 4th female passed away today. All 4 of the ones my friend had gotten from a different importer have now passed, yet all from the first importer are fine. I thought she was doing better with the force feeding, but I guess I was wrong.

Sorry to hear of the passing of one of your female Uroplatus sikorae.

Best wishes for hatchlings from the remaining three !

Thanks Elizabeth. I hadn't had her as long as I've had my original 4, I would be absolutely crushed if one of those were to pass away, but still doesn't make it feel much better. Unfortunately she was one of the possibly gravid ones, and the remaining two didn't lay good eggs. Hopefully we have better luck next time.
