Default Egg on glass

I just watched my female Uroplatus henkeli lay an egg on the glass where she normally hangs during the day. 1 week ago she ejected a slug so I knew there would only be one egg, but I am confused as to why she layd it on the glass?
The egg has has hardened and stuck to the glass like most Phelsuma sp. eggs, but it was not buried like normal.
What does this mean, has anyone else experienced this?

The egg is not fertile and it's normal for Uroplatus to glue infertile eggs, or just drop them to the ground.
