Default Calcium sac question

Do males get calcium sacs like the females? My adult male Sikorae looks normal, but my sub-adult male looks like he has hugh calcium sacs...way bigger than my adult female or sub-adult female. My sub-adults are housed individually.

Yes, it is normal for males to have them. They may be used to store calcium for the growth process as well as egg development.

Thanks! I was a little concerned as they weren't there last week. He did just go through a growth spurt not to long ago, so maybe he's about to have another soon.

Ha, this is so funny that I just commented about that in the other forum...

I haven't noticed such large sacs in my males, but they do have them. It's the females you have worry about. Concentrate on their sacs or you'll be in trouble. It sure is nice they have them, otherwise we'd have nothing to gauge their calcium by until they hid the dirt.
