I've always found that with most juvenile geckos, and many adults, that the size of the prey item is of utmost importance:
Too large, and the animal will get spooked, possibly refusing food for days after.
Too small and they are uninterested. They can stress easily by prey items running all over them as well.
Personally, I think pinheads are too small. I would shoot for a cricket about 1/2 the size of the geckos head, perhaps slightly smaller. "2 week" crickets would probably be perfect.
Just my $.02
